Frequently asked questions.

The questions Atlanta gate owners ask us most, answered straight by the specialists who work on gates every day.

How much does a gate service call cost?

Our service call is $165 for the first hour, which covers travel and expert diagnosis. Most diagnostic and simple repair visits fall in the $165–$250 range before parts. Parts and labor beyond the first hour are billed separately, and we explain pricing before any additional work.

How often should an automatic gate be serviced?

At minimum once per year for residential gates. Commercial gates and community entrances that cycle dozens or hundreds of times a day benefit from service every 6 months. Regular maintenance catches worn parts before they strand your gate open or closed.

How long does a gate operator last?

A quality operator typically lasts 10–15 years with regular maintenance. High cycle counts, Georgia heat and storms, and skipped maintenance can shorten that considerably. If your operator is over a decade old and acting up, we'll give you an honest repair-vs-replace recommendation.

What is UL 325 and why does it matter?

UL 325 is the safety standard governing automatic gate operators. It requires entrapment protection — monitored photo eyes, edge sensors, and proper force settings — so a gate can't injure a person or vehicle. Many older Atlanta gates predate current requirements and can be upgraded for both safety and liability protection.

Do you service my gate brand?

Almost certainly. We service all major brands — LiftMaster, DoorKing, Viking, FAAC, BFT, HySecurity, Nice Apollo, Linear, and more — including older and discontinued equipment. See the full list on our Brands We Service page.

Can I get a price without an on-site visit?

Yes — our Instant Estimate tool gives you a starting range in under two minutes based on your gate type and the problem you're seeing. Final pricing is confirmed after diagnosis.
